EXCELSIOR DESIGNS ANNOUNCES NEW FURNITURE DIVISION TO DEBUT IN HIGH POINT
N. Amityville, NY – Excelsior Designs has announced their return to High Point with a new furniture division. The company will introduce an assortment of transitional urban styles perfect for younger professionals as well as empty nesters reclaiming and redesigning their living spaces. They have acquired a 3,500-square foot space on the fifth floor of the IHFC Hamilton wing H538, and will exhibit their latest designs during the upcoming High Point Market held April 17-22.
Excelsior Designs had earlier announced the closure of their previous space at IHFC in order to concentrate on strategic initiatives to broaden the company’s product line. As Excelsior Designs continues to produce high-end contemporary Italian goods, they are also introducing a new line of more popularly priced, sophisticated selections. The timing of this introduction is perfect for the April Market because of increased retailer demand and a positive economic upturn. Steven Kayne explained, “We anticipated our decision to leave High Point was a temporary one, and it gave us the time we needed to embark on this endeavor.”
The initiative is a collaboration between Steven Kayne, president of Excelsior Designs, and Paul Greenbaum, Vice President of Sales. The debut collection, “Voyage” is being sourced in South America; however, Kayne advises they are interested in sourcing worldwide to find the best quality and most beautiful and unique woods available for their transitional and modern design ideas.
The “Voyage” collection features approximately 20 pieces encompassing bedroom, dining, occasional, entertainment, and home office selections. Crafted in beautiful cherry veneers with an exotic Perillo wood inlay in a tobacco finish and silver-toned hardware, the pieces are clean-lined and uncluttered, and seemingly float upon stacked, introverted bases. Several pieces also incorporate floating glass tops, which emanate a more modern aesthetic. A complete bedroom collection will retail for approximately $7-8,000. The product will be warehoused in Long Island, NY.
Greenbaum added, “We are pleased to be back in High Point. We are committed to supporting our existing retail base with Italian-crafted goods and yet are excited about the future of our new venture and the opportunities it brings.”
