One of the largest wholesale resources for traditional, transitional and contemporary wall art, Picture Source, is set to debut nearly 300 new wall art pieces at the upcoming Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market®, January 6-12, 2010.

Collected into three themes—contemporary original and limited edition pieces, oversized artwork, and traditional art—the new introductions will showcase outstanding artists’ use of traditional and contemporary media, enlivening classic stylings with updated and innovative framing options, and presenting contemporary art in both subtle and dramatic fashion.

More than 100 pieces including exclusive original artwork by Butler Design Studio are included in the company’s contemporary original and limited edition introductions for the winter markets.  Presenting these works with the creativity they deserve, Picture Source delved into stylish and unusual framing applications.  Matted products include fillets, v-grooves and pseudo v-grooves along with raises and other accents to add depth or color.  Non-glassed products are showcased in either canvas float frames, gallery style presentations or with stacked frames.

Picture Source’s new introduction of oversized art covers all genre and features many designs by artist John Butler, including his new “Afternoon”, crafted with mixed media on paper.  The 52” x 52” piece is perfectly complemented by a silver and charcoal double frame without glass.  “Afternoon” will retail for approximately $995.

Traditional art selections encompass approximately 150 new pieces focusing on classic subjects such as botanicals and maps, along with an array of Audubon flora and fauna supplemented with natural elements and landscapes.

Far from mundane, these traditional pieces are highly differentiated by unique framing styles, including French lines, fillets, the use of decorative wall papers and three-dimensional objects.  Part of a series of 8 designs, a beautiful antique map of North America is representative of the traditional offerings.  Double matted with a suede outer and a dark rustic walnut frame, the 26” x 23” design will retail for approximately $249.  Other antique-style maps in the collection include Africa, South America, Europe, Italy, Spain, Asia and the British Isles.

Pressed botanicals from the coastal south will also be featured at Market.  A series of 7 ferns, palms and native plants, collected and pressed in the Charleston, SC area, are elegantly framed in a pecan finish.  The natural beauty of the plants creates a truly unique look.

Picture Source will exhibit their new creations, along with many of their bestselling in-line pieces, in their permanent AmericasMart®Atlanta showroom, Building 1, 14th Floor, Suites E13/15, as well as in the Werner Frank showroom in Building 2, Floor 12, Suite 1200.

The company will also debut their new collections at the January Total Home & Gift Market in Dallas (#10040), and at the February 2010 Las Vegas Market (inside Dillon-Wells A 236, and at A319).
