November 17, 2009, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam—Theodore Alexander is pleased to announce a number of organizational changes supporting their corporate strategic and continuous improvement objectives. Harvey Dondero, Theodore Alexander CEO, stated, “The entire Theodore Alexander management team is committed to the future through fine craftsmanship, high quality and unique offerings. These additions and changes to our manufacturing operations are allowing us to better serve our customer base, and run more efficiently and cost effectively.”

Melvin Wilson has joined the company in the newly created position of Senior Vice President Operations.  Wilson will assume the overall operations responsibility for the manufacturing, wood sample, engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance departments at their Plant 1 location in Ho Chi Minh City.  Wilson brings Theodore Alexander over 30 years experience in the industry.  He recently served as Vice President of Manufacturing at Hickory Chair and Vice President of Operations at Simex International, and has traveled extensively in South America, China, and Vietnam.  “We are very excited by the opportunities that his expertise will bring, further strengthening the experienced management abilities of our existing team,” said Harvey Dondero, CEO.

Brian Martin has been appointed to the position of Manager, Research and Development Department.  He will be responsible for design execution and in this capacity, all designers, draftspersons, product administrators, and supplier management will report to him.  He will also be responsible for wax carvings, sample finishing, and fittings.  Martin comes to Theodore Alexander with many years of furniture experience, mostly in the product development area with Pennsylvania House, Outlook International, and Lilly Industries.  He has a degree in Illustration and Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design / Georgia Southern University.

Werner Freundel has been promoted to the position of Director, Merchandising Department.  He will be responsible for directing the merchandising of the company’s vast product line.  In this role he will liaise with customers, sales people, manufacturing, and product development in order to ensure products are proper for the marketplace and all categories and items are addressed to meet the demanding needs of today’s consumers.  Freundel will also maintain continued management of the product description, categorization, and product training responsibilities.  Freundel completed his BA at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, before taking an MA in the History of Design at The Royal College of Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum. 

A new Materials Sourcing Department has been established and will be led by Rajeev Kapoor.  This department will be responsible for identifying sourcing opportunities and vendor research, and the selection and development of materials and other sub components for their detailed and complex product line.  Kapoor will also be responsible for value analysis and financial modeling for all procured materials. By focusing on vendor selection, it ensures the company will have an uninterrupted flow of materials and proper inventory levels to support manufacturing.  Kapoor will retain his current responsibilities for pricing as well as all company environmental/green initiatives.  Kapoor qualified as a Cost and Management Accountant in New Delhi, India and holds a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) diploma in the field of investment management and financial analysis of stock.  He also has a degree in Commerce.  Kapoor joined Theodore Alexander in 2001.  

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Giang has been promoted to Manager of the company’s Purchasing Department.  This department will be responsible for day-to-day operational purchasing activities and will also manage the development and execution of the requisition process, including reorder points and making sure all specifications are met. Previously Nguyen held various positions within the purchasing and logistics departments. She is a graduate of Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland, UK with a BA in Hospitality Management.
