AT HIGH POINT MARKET - KINCAID DELVES INTO CONTEMPORARY MARKETPLACE WITH NEW INTRODUCTIONS
April 2009, Hudson, NC—Kincaid Furniture is delving into the contemporary marketplace with two new collections to be introduced during the upcoming High Point Market held April 25-30. “Alston” and “Newbury Street” add designer chic to Kincaid’s lineup; peppered with intriguing elements, each exhibit sleek profiles, modern scale and aesthetics, and inspired designs, while continuing the tradition of quality craftsmanship and solid wood value for which Kincaid is known.
Kincaid’s new “Alston” collection conveys modern traditional sensibilities with an unmistakable hint of Art Deco-inspired flair. The result is a collection that is at once dramatic and yet unpretentious. “Alston” features solid European beech finished in a smooth cappuccino and highlighted with polished nickel beveled ring hardware. For added panache, some pieces are accented with dark metal-flaked granite, smoked glass, leather, or polished metal. Its modern classic style is bold and beautiful.
For those who think “young” regardless of age, the look is fresh and inviting. “Alston” is scaled for understated elegance—whether in an urban condo or spacious suburban home. The 50-piece bedroom, dining, and living room collection includes elements such as leather-paneled beds, storage footboards, metal canopies, low-profile cases, and metal framed occasional tables. An elegant wood-based upholstery set is also available. The “Alston” sofa is shown in a brown and cream herringbone houndstooth, while the chair adds drama with a large toile-inspired damask print. The bases of both feature the collection’s rich cappuccino finish. A mix-and-match mindset is predominant with “Alston,” as customers have their choice of interchangeable headboard and footboard options, as well as dining table and chair options—add in the extensive selection of fabrics, and the combinations are sure to deliver the exact look you desire. Approximate retail prices for a bedroom or dining suite are $2900. “Alston” will be available at furniture retailers and Kincaid-authorized galleries beginning in early Fall.
With pure lines and a striking two-tone finish, “Newbury Street” melds Scandinavian roots with a more modern aesthetic and scale. Comprised of complementing ash and cherry solids, their corresponding finishes emphasize each wood’s innate beauty. Sporting a choice of hardware options, an oil-rubbed bronze metal or solid ash knob, “Newbury Street” is fresh and understated. Its utilitarian nature and practical functionality will appeal to younger consumers as well as those furnishing second homes or updating guest rooms.
The group’s 25-plus pieces include bedroom, dining, and living room selections. Options abound, such as the choice of footboards that are available for the beautiful Arched Panel Bed; there are three dining tables with a choice of four chair styles. Each of “Newbury Street’s” dining table surfaces are protected by Kincaid’s durable “Kinguard” finish, which will provide years of durable service. While unexpected curves are found in the scalloped base of the Round Dining Table, overall the design is clean, simplistic, and natural. Approximate retail prices for a bedroom or dining suite is $2400. “Newbury Street” will be available at furniture retailers and Kincaid-authorized galleries beginning in early Fall.
