Bassett® Furniture’s New Bassett Xpress Motion Signals Strong Growth in Category
Company hires Kent Dobkins to helm programs
Bassett, VA, April 04, 2014 – Full-line lifestyle manufacturer, Bassett Furniture, continues its push forward in the motion upholstery category with the company’s new Bassett Motion Xpress program, debuting at the High Point Market, April 5-10. The program features eight new styles, each with multiple cover options. The comprehensive program allows retailers to mix products in container shipments. Bassett Xpress Motion, along with all the new Bassett Furniture introductions, can be seen in the company’s showroom located in IHFC, C-1200.
Bassett has produced selected items in the motion category for a number of years, but this is the first wholly integrated program according Bruce Cohenour, senior vice president, sales and merchandising. With its more than 110-year legacy of crafting upholstered seating backed by one of the most recognized names in the industry, “Bassett is poised to be a leader in this growing category,” noted Cohenour.
To reinforce the successful expansion of this category, Bassett has hired industry executive, Kent Dobkins, in the newly created position of director of strategic accounts. As such, Dobkins will develop and oversee products and programs designed to illustrate and support Bassett’s strategic initiatives in motion furniture. He reports to Cohenour.
Prior to joining Bassett, Dobkins held similar management positions with Berkline, La-Z-Boy and, most recently, Lane Furniture.
