Fire Damages Theodore Alexander Facility in Vietnam

January 9, 2013, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – At approximately 1:00PM local time a fire broke out in Theodore Alexander’s plant one located in Ho Chi Minh City. Thanks to rapid response and the company’s established emergency procedures, none of the more than 3,000 people employed at this location were injured. At this time the cause of the fire is undetermined.

Harvey Dondero, global CEO of Theodore Alexander, reports that the fire damaged the finishing lines and spread to the work-in-progress area before being extinguished. Operations in those areas will be moved to other Theodore Alexander facilities and the company is preparing a revised production and shipment plan which will be announced shortly. Further, in preparation for Tet (the Vietnamese lunar new year), the annual 3- week national holiday, the company has substantial product inventory in both the US distribution facility and in their overseas warehouses.

New introduction samples slated for the upcoming spring High Point Market were unaffected and the company is proceeding with its Market plans as scheduled.
